A Year in the Life of the Festival - November

Funding the Festival is a huge issue and having decide that we were really going to focus on fundraising this year we certainly got off to a great start!

The Halloween  Spectacular was fangtastic.  Riverside looked spooktacular, there were some amazing costumes and The Mighty Pledge were fabulous as always.  Thanks to Ollie, Hannah, The Mighty Pledge and everyone at The Riverside Hotel for an amazing night.   (Thanks Emma King for the photo).

Then Kamran had the brilliant idea of combining street food and music to create The MonFest Street Food Experience.  We didn't have much time to organise it but we hope you agree that it was a brilliant night and great to see such a buzz in Monmouth.  Thanks to Kamran and Mike; all the traders and musicians; The Punch House, Handyman House and everyone at The Shire Hall.

Of course neither event would have been a success  without your support, so a huge thanks to you, the people of Monmouth.

If you missed either of these events, don't worry there will be another MonFest SteetFood Experience on Friday, 18th December, a New Year's Eve Extravaganza at The Riverside is being organised as we speak and more events are planned for 2016.  Keep an eye out for updates on Facebook and Twitter.

The Riverside weekly Friday Night Live Music Sessions are proving to be very popular and it's great to see so many local musicians growing in confidence and experience.  If anyone would like to know more about these session please contact Ollie.

As well as fundraising events this is the time of year when we start talking to possible sponsors and identifying and applying for grants.  Post Festival reports have to be completed and submitted for 2015 Festival grants.

The Ents Committee are working on the line up for 2016  and with over 350 applications already received that's not as easy as you might think!

Budgets have been set so we can begin making  "must have"  and "it would be nice to have" lists of  equipment and infa-structure needed for 2016.

237 days to go to opening night!
