Monmouth is easy to get to by road with excellent access from East, West, North and South.
From the M4. Leave the motorway at Junction 24 (Coldra roundabout). Follow the A449/A40 to Monmouth. Take the 1st exit for Monmouth, B4233. Continue to the traffic lights and turn right, B4293, over the bridge. You will see the Main Stage site on your left.
For a more scenic route West; taking in the beautiful Wye Valley, an area of outstanding beauty and birthplace of British tourism, leave the M4 at Junction 21 and follow the M48 over the original Severn Bridge. Take Junction 2 (Chepstow) and follow the A466 to Monmouth.
From the Head of the Valleys and Abergavenny take the A40 to Raglan. Take the left fork and continue on the A40/A449 (Midlands) to Monmouth.
Travelling south from The Midlands. Take the M5. Leave the motorway at Junction 8 (South Wales, Ross on Wye). Follow the M50 and then the A40/A449 to Monmouth. At the Dixton roundabout take the 3rd exit to Monmouth (A466).
Car Parks in Monmouth are free from 6pm every day and free all day on Sunday.
The easiest car parks to access if coming from Dixton Roundabout or the Wye Valley are:
- Glendower Car Park adjacent to The Blake Theatre , Almshouse St.
- The Budgen Car Park behind Oldway Centre, Monnow Keep.
The easiest car parks to access if coming north on the A40/A449 are those on Blestium Street – Waitrose and Marks & Spencer.
The Main Stage is situated in Blestium Car Park so this car park and the section of Monnow Street from the turning for Monnow Keep to the roundabout with Cinderhill Street (Waitrose) will be closed to traffic from 6pm to midnight every night during the Festival
On Carnival Sunday Priory Street, Monnow Street and Blestium Street will be closed to traffic from 6am until 6pm.
