Inspired by Coleford Busking Festival and with the help of Nick Penny and Sara Warshawski the very first Monmouth Busking Festival was held in 2014.
Following the success of previous events the busking festival returns for a third consecutive year to the streets of Monmouth. Musicians and performers of all styles, genres and ages will be set to entertain you throughout the day. This year the event falls on International Busking Day so we hope to make it the biggest and best yet!
THE WAY IT works
There will be busking zones throughout the town including Monnow Street, White Swan Court, Beaufort Arms Square, Church Street, The Old Way Centre and Monnow Bridge.
The Open Mic Stage this year will be located in Agincourt Square with 15 minute slots running from 10:30am to 6:00pm. These can be booked on the day from 9:00am so please turn up early to avoid disappointment.
The festival committee will choose 5 acts to go on to play the Main Stage on Carnival Sunday (24th July) from 3pm.
To perform on the Open Mic Stage and be in with a chance of securing a Festival Main Stage slot buskers MUST also perform around the town. To ensure that every busker can be heard buskers are politely requested not to use any form of amplification when performing around town. If you have any questions, or require further information please contact Nick Penny at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com .
This event is sponsored by Nick Penny Event Services and the John Lewis Partnership Music Matters Scheme.
